TTATO Podcast - Thursday 12/3 @ 9pm ET Topic

Hey everyone, I have been trying to get to know you all through support tickets, the forums, meetings, emails, site mails, and just about everything else but I wanted to say that one of our long time players, majique hosts a podcast/stream every two weeks and both Chris Cobb, our new Director of Development and myself, the new Product Manager on staff will be guests this week.

Although traditionally a Gridiron Dynasty podcast we'd love to have any and all of the WhatIfSports family come and ask questions and get to us a little better. Feel free to pick our brains, ask questions, or just enjoy the show.

You can enter the show tomorrow through this link:
https://streamyard.com/y4fsexamp6? (starting on 12/3) - remember it starts at 9pm ET.

If you miss the live show majique posts all his shows on his Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChfBbU6nJAy9VZbKdY9yGaw

Thanks again!

Adam

I just watched the video and took some notes for those who are interested. Overall these guys seem great. You can tell that they are very passionate about this project.
  • Too much time being spent on operational duties. Need to alleviate repetitive tickets so work can be done elsewhere.
  • Technology is dated so hard to build upon.
  • Spending time familiarizing with different games.
  • Would like to make the games more dynamic so they aren’t as cookie-cutter (in regards to decisions such as recruiting, game planning, etc). Don't want to make any quick or rash changes.
  • Don’t have any plans yet for any changes.
  • Some development and tech talk that I don’t understand.
  • Seble had a roadmap that he didn’t have time to get to, but he shared with new devs. Includes general game logic and job logic. Debating between slowly upgrading old code piece by piece or completely rebuilding from the ground up.
  • Would like to help support community blogs and other engagement (3rd party content). Would be cool to sim different historical teams against each other.
  • Benis can’t work technology.
  • Reworking job hiring process, different schools looking for different coaching profiles. To some extent, games have been “solved”.
  • Want to make game more approachable for new players without dumbing it down too much. “Easy to learn, hard to master”.
  • For future, would like to update technology, maybe add a live play-by-play feature at some point. Going to try to get as much feedback as possible now and build games out.
  • Need to build “resiliency” into games so they can tweak numbers based on # of users in worlds (recruit gen for example).
  • Going to be transparent, working behind the scenes, active.
  • HD users are generally better looking than GD users.
  • Going to look at biggest business needs when deciding what to work on.
