I'm going to play some Open Leagues but am out of touch. What types of teams are people building for them? Still a focus on deadball pitchers and speedy, A+ range, XBH hitters?

I’ve been building teams focused on HRs and errors for the bounties... but it seems the popular teams are still some variation of deadball pitchers in dodger, hilltop, or Baker bowl with high XBH 70+ speed hitters.

How many innings can you get out of AAA usually?

Between the two around 100 give or take. Low quality you can get 150, high quality around 60.

We have revived the Champs leagues that weren't being used back to 2012. They've been very competitive. They pay much better than Open leagues for veteran players. They pay 1.5x better than standard theme leagues as well. Champions leagues have same rules as Open leagues. Selecting Champs from the options places you in the next available league, but I keep a thread going showing the current league number as well...

Some HR teams have had success. Griz won a TOC from a Champs league recently...

Mike, the Champs leagues are also a place for vets to play open style leagues while not preying on new players. The requirement to enter is a minimum of 5 WS appearances. Many of us do play Open leagues, but we work to fill Champs leagues just as soon as the previous league has gotten going...

I had a recent champs league team reach the final 4 of the TOC

Much more competitive than OL and like doc says above, the prizes are much better.
