Honestly it's impossible to say at this point.

We don't know your competition or if this guy is actually any good and will attract competition. Top 80 recruit could mean he's a dud or a stud. If you'd like, send me a site mail showing his potentials and I'll give you my honest opinion.

But, in general, I don't advise people rebuilding at D1 to put all their eggs in one basket. You need to grow a program of ever improving players. If you go all for this guy and strike out, you're going to be set back on your journey. Unless you have 1 opening or something.. But don't go for just 1 guy with 4 or 5 openings and ignore the rest.

Just start with AP and monitor the situation. If one or more teams with a higher prestige show up, then its probably not worth your resources. It also depends on how far he is and how many scholarships you have. If he's within 100 miles and you have 4 scholarships, then maxing him out would only cost you about 1/3 of your budget, which should be fine.
