Waivers after trade deadline... Topic

Greetings,

Do many owners waive their whole roster (or most of it) after the trading deadline, essentially extending the trade deadline the way MLB GMs used to, using revocable waivers? And, if so, does it essentially extend the trade deadline all the way until post-season rosters are set?

What is the correct way to do this to make sure you don't accidentally lose a guy you want to keep? Is it to waive them, being sure to check the Automatically Revoke button? Anything else need to be done?

Lastly, in real baseball the waiving team would know who put in a claim, making this a likely trade partner since the claiming team showed interest. Is this the same in HBD?

Thanks for your help!

Also...from the other side...if you put in a claim on a player who will be automatically revoked, are you told you didn't get him right away, or do you need to wait a cycle for it to process?

Many do. Yes.

Yes, check your transactions before submitting them.

Yes mostly, also other teams can place claims in case they want to block anything. It's after the deadline. All is fair.

You have to wait till waivers on the players process, overnight, the second day after he was waived.

I usually waive my whole roster after the trade deadline. It does allow you to trade after the deadline if no one claims your players. If someone does claim them, then that is the only team you can trade that player to for the rest of the season.

Yes, make sure you check the automatic revoke button. Check everything and then submit.

You are notified about each player in your inbox whether they were claimed or not when they were on waivers. The player card will also show if they cleared waivers or not.
