SIM AI contesting me in RS2 Topic

I have been moderate, yes (scholarship offered), on a recruit since the middle of RS1 with not a soul on him. No users, or sims. Today I woke up to two sims on him (this isn't abnormal, I know they jump around, usually at very low), but one of them was on low which makes me believe they are going to pursue my recruit. To my knowledge, and what I have read before, is that a sim will not pursue once they have been at very low for two consecutive cycles. I have continually poured AP into this recruit, so I am still putting in effort and am confused why a SIM is now jumping up on his board. I do not believe that this sim should have jumped to low and should be challenging me for this recruit.

Am I wrong about anything stated above? I just submitted a ticket but wanted to hear from other community members.

Preferences matter lots here too. What are yours compared to the sims?

Last season in Knight I had a C prestige D1 sim pursue a D1 kid I was on as an A+ D2 school. They went from low to moderate 5 separate times despite me having the overall preference advantage. In the end I had to use promises, a CV, and all 20 HVs to prevent the sims from over-taking me. It happens. No need for a ticket.

Think of sim like tiny little sharks in a pool. They strike around blind looking for something that might be a little vulnerable. If they hit something that bleeds a little, for whatever reason, they will go for the kill. Initial sim effort is basically always ~25 AP I think, give or take. So if they get to low based on that, this tells you based on the sims effort, this particular sims prestige and preference profile is good enough to get them to low on 25 AP against whatever you’ve done so far. In most cases, that’s just AP and a scholarship, right? If that’s your D3 school, and this is a D1 sim on a D1 pool recruit, this makes a lot of sense, really. All is not lost, you really just need to make a minutes promise (which the sim never does) and a visit or 3, and that should be that. Maybe a little more if your preference profile is bad. Do enough soon enough to beat them down right away, though. If you let them hang around, that shark will take all your flesh.

Shark sunk its teeth in. Took an arm, leg, and even the heart in this case.
