We should probably look at fixing how prestige is calculated (not baseline) at D2/D3.

Somehow I dropped down to an A prestige

Wow, the last season must be weighted super hugely.

I definitely burned myself for forgetting to schedule!

that's what you get for not winning the NT every season!

Season 150 Rockhurst is the new 1999 Chicago Bulls ;)

Could also be that there's no such thing as an A+++ like in D1, probably because you'd run into the next division's prestige, so he was hard-capped at A+ and didn't get the boost of multiple NTs.

Wild run Benis. Pretty impressive.

in d2/d3 the last season is 50% and the previous prestige is 50%. so it basically just really heavily weights the most recent season, with a cap on the amount of increase allowed or something (doesn't it only allow +1 letter grade per season or something?)

Just to clarify- I understand how it works today. My point is that the way it works is pretty stupid as shown in this example and should be modified. Hence the thread title "add it to the list".

i agree, although d2 prestige is essentially meaningless except psychologically so i'm not sure how important it is. i like how its highly responsive to recent success but that does cut both ways. 50% always seemed too high to me though, maybe they could do 30% or something, but keep the same simple model so that is a REALLY simple code change?

I feel like it should be more similar to D1 without the baseline. Last 4 seasons with the recent seasons more heavily weighted. Seems about right.

you could argue that is what the current model is... the 4 most recent seasons are 90 something % of the weight, and the more recent is heavier. i would be fine with the d1 model too but i'm assuming that is more work.

30%, 21%, 15%, 10%, 7%, ... is the progression at 30%. then the last 4 are only 76% and the prior handful of seasons are going to make up most of the rest, functioning almost as a baseline prestige of sorts. that may be a little low though. i just picked 30% randomly. maybe 40% is better

40%, 24%, 14%, 9%, 5%... that is the 40% progression. so the last 4 would be 87% of the total, which sounds a little better.

anyway i'm all for either i just am throwing out what i think is easy and therefore more likely. 'can you drop the most recent season's weighting from 50% to 40%' might come across as far more doable to a developer new to a codebase than 'can you convert d2/d3 to the d1 prestige model but without baseline'
