RS2 Recruiting After a Job Change Topic

RS2 recruiting after a job change is completely useless.

I was anticipating this for my recent D3 -> D3 job change, and greatly lowered my expectations (and my bar for quality) after the last time I made a lateral job move within a division (that was D1 -> D1), but it's still really bad.

I was hoping to maybe snag some transfers, but alas, none have showed up. I'm going after low level D2 and D3 recruits, but by the time I've used my AP's to unlock scholarships, they've already signed with other teams. I'm now 0-3 in RS2 recruiting in Smith over the past two days.

My only hope right now to salvage anything out of this RS2 recruiting session is to drop some scholarships on some D3 recruits tonight after the 11pm cycle, when "same level" scholarships become automatically unlocked for everybody. The three guys I'm looking at for that now are not very good at all, but they're somewhat better than the guys I cut yesterday.

My suggestion for RS2 recruiting after a job change (at least within the same division) . . . let any AP recruiting credit carry over from your previous program to the new program. Promises, home visits, campus visits should stay with the previous school, but at least carry over the AP credits that may have unlocked scholarships, promises, etc. with the coach to the new school so that we're not starting over from ground zero.

Thoughts?

I’ve always thought you should be able to *try* to get a guy you’ve signed in the first session to come with you, provided you are making something more than a flat lateral move. I’ve also always thought some guys (especially jucos) should either be created for, or reserved for the second session, and appear after the season, representing late bloomers who had breakout seasons, and just now appeared on the national radar. Both realistic, and would vastly improve gameplay for coach changes (and potentially for teams with early entries, as well). In general, I think there should be quite a few more decent juco and transfer options.

make session 2 real or scrap it, IMO... real meaning no signings for the first 5 cycles or something, and probably a larger share of recruits who sign in session 2 than current - something along those lines.

IMO session 2 is not hopeless. its definitely a crap shoot when players sign, but if you are strategic about it, it seems to me there is room for getting a shot at some decent players. or occasionally some great ones even. i guess i've only done a couple of these, but they were way better than nothing.

Yeah - it is very difficult. Another thought is to allow a couple of cycles before signings start so you have a chance to unlock someone before they sign somewhere else.

I agree Recruiting Session 2 sucks.

I just picked up 9 total teams in the last month after not playing in 18 months. My least favorite part of the game is RS2 and it is not even close.

In college recruiting there are pipelines. A lot of recruiting is built on personal relationships with players and their families, even neighborhoods.

So what if... limited new recruits showed up in RS2 and we received emails from stars or even previous players. “Hey coach, my cousin Billy loves coming to visit me on campus and I think he’d shred the post for us.”

Other coaches could try recruiting Billy too, but you’d have an advantage since he’s in the pipeline.

Just an idea. I have many.
