Some people have a strategy to "double team the 3pt shooters, then play a more negative 'positioning' to also take away the non 3pt shooters".
Does that work?
In real basketball it might .. but remember, in this game, you are only double teaming the guy IF he is the calculated shooter. And then, only some times. On the times you are NOT double teaming him (most of the time) .. the lower positioning gives him an advantage. I think that calculation happens MORE than the Double teamed calculation. So, if you lower the positioning and double team a 3pt shooter, you MIGHT give a double teamed 3 point shooter a better game.
What does double teaming actually do? I think it lowers the distribution of the player double teamed .. so that would mean someone other than the double teamed person shoots more. It picks a couple times in the game that the double teamed guys shoots and impacts his shot (you see it in the play by play). I probably picks a couple other times and increases the chance of an 'open player' .. however it does that.
But what it actually does, we need to see the game engine code and debug it to determine.
