Do you keep paying cut minor leaguers? Topic

Greetings,

Quick question...if you release an org-depth minor leaguer do you still pay him the rest of the $38k or $55k or whatever their level is earning? Or do you save the portion of his salary for the rest of the season? Yes, it's an inconsequential amount, just curious.

Yes, in a straight Release - whether previously waived or not - their salary stays on the books. If you waive and someone else claims them, their salary goes.
