Screwup re League Minimum Salaries??? Topic

So, I'm a n00b, and might be misunderstanding something...my first team just rolled over to my second season. Last season when the rosters expanded, I called up a bunch of guys from AAA, figuring I'd get them some extra experience like in real MLB.

Now, with the new season, most of these guys are back at AAA, but they're salary is ML-minimum $343,000 rather than the AAA salary around $55k. It's costing me an extra $2 million for these guys.

So, first, am I understanding this correctly? Then, is there a way to avoid this happening again, such as demoting them before the end of the World Series, hopefully without a ratings hit? Or, is it simply not worth it to promote guys when rosters expand?

Lastly, is this how it happens in real MLB? I think it isn't.

(I pasted the wrong guy...my bad)

OK, so it's fine to promote guys when rosters expand so they get some more development time, just so long as they get put back in the minors before the World Series concludes. They won't get a negative ratings hit for demoting them back to the minors, and their salary for the next season will be the minor league salary for their level rather than the major league minimum...correct?

Do you think it's worth promoting them at all, assuming the team is not in the playoff race and it's just to get more experience?

Thanks for your input!

I’d keep em where they are if they are going to play in the playoffs. If not I’d bring em up to the majors.

agreed...now I just have to remember to move them back down before the end of the WS so I don't waste $2mm again!

Just as an aside, if you demote from MLB to MiLB after the season they won’t take a ratings hit but if you demote between minor league levels after the season there is a chance that they will.
