Been at this for years, but never asked this; If you recruit an ineligible player and promise minutes, do they think that will apply the season they're ineligible(where they can't play)? or the following?

no. if the player becomes eligible during recruiting, even if its after he signed, you'll be on the hook for those promises. however, when the player stays ineligible the first season, the promises are free, you never have to meet a minute of them.
