i've redshirted a ton of them... odds these days, not sure. i usually inform a juco of a redshirt if that is my plan, because typically if i want to redshirt a juco, i probably am not too keen on him without the redshirt. i usually don't have a problem getting them to take the redshirt, you just need a little extra money... but i do think the same rules apply as with freshman, a d3 school is going to struggle to redshirt a 5 star juco just like a 5 star freshman.
