So here's the thing. Every Player on the Saint Louis Billikin Roster in Phelan was recruited and signed by me. I left last season to take over Louisville which hasnt been available for 4 years. Now that the Billikins are in the elite 8 as the #1 overall seed can i claim their championship if they go the distance.

I see this as a Tubby Smith Rick Pitino situation after he left UK for the NBA. Tubby Won the next year but everyone knows it was Rick's recruits that won.

You sure can! Many years ago, I left Texas Southern and then the sim took them to the championship game (Allen World). I always wonder if I could have won it had I stayed. Of course, this was like season 20 or something so no one really knew what they were doing yet.

Another real life example is the 2001 Miami Hurricanes football championship. It was the year that Larry Coker took over, but it was clearly a roster that Butch Davis built.
