I've been of the opinion for a decade that the coach hiring needs an adjustment. You've got guys waiting around for jobs at levels they shouldn't have been at before.
Simple suggestion is that as time passes during the coach hiring, not only do the lower their salary demands, but those of lower abilities lower the level they are demanding. Maybe for however many open jobs there are at a level, only a certain number of coaches will continue demanding a job at that level. As the number of openings shrink, more coaches will look to a lower level to stay employed.
Please fix the fielding coach situation, it is and has been ridiculous for a long time.
Scouts always over estimate players, wouldn't it be nice if they under estimated a player who wasn't a DITR? Along those lines, when a team is spending $16-17 million on scouting, having it miss by the same amounts as when a team is spending $12 million makes one wonder what is the point? Of course there is a certain level of randomness, but if I'm investing at that level when trying to rebuild, perhaps a little bang for my buck. Otherwise, the winning formula is ignore the amateur draft and spend tons on international scouting and prospects.
Which is a nice transition to the fact the the number of all-star level international prospects per season is a bit over the top.
Finally, thank you so much for turning down the major injuries a touch. They were also pushing the bounds of reality. That is a nice update!
