Recruit doesn't sign? Topic

Does it ever happen that a recruit doesn't sign with anyone even when there are scholarship offers?

Yeah, for a player to sign they have to have an offer and be at 'high' or 'very high" interest.

Lets say UCLA hasn't offered a scholly but is at 'very high' interest, and Sacramento State has offered a scholly but is only at 'moderate' interest. The recruit wouldn't sign. Sac State would need to increase interest or UCLA would need to offer for the recruit to sign.

Also, sometimes you'll see a team fill their openings and still have an offer out there. In this case a very high scholarship offer wouldn't be able to go through.

For the final recruit cycle, that guy at Moderate will sign. If the Very High school doesn’t have an opening, at the final cycle the recruit will go down the list to the next scholarship offer. You could even sign him at Very Low.

Sometimes the recruit won’t sign right at 11PM but a couple hours afterward as the world prepares to roll into the next season.

Yep.

As someone pointed out as well.. Sometimes ineligible players go JUCO.

Also.. If a player does not sign with you.. Make sure you don't have 6 players in that class already. I did that once. Won a very hard battle only to have the guy not sign with anyone because I had 6 SOs and he was a JUCO with 2 years left (the 6 SOs became JRs and he could not sign).
