If I decided to get rid of a player I recruited is there a penalty? I remember it used to be my "reputation" as a coach would take a hit.

Also, its quite silly that recruits ranked in the top 150 at their position sign with low level D3 schools. Totally unrealistic and should be fixed.

If you cut a player from the previous coach or from Sim AI (anyone you didn’t recruit) you will get the resource $ for that player’s open position in scouting and recruiting. However, if you signed the player, you won’t get anything... not even the extra AP.

As for a penalty, your coaching reputation grade will take a hit. This has minimal if any effect on recruiting. I wouldn’t worry about that.

They really minimized the level of hit your reputation takes for cutting players, it’s not the same as the olden days. Which is a good fix for sure. I cut players all the time if they end up having crappier potentials than I thought they would.
