Kinda confused as to why Syndergaard started at DH. I think it’s because all my guys were below their Allow Rest percentage, but I always assumed they’d just stick in the lineup fatigued.

It seems to me this is one of the things that just happens at WIS, and never when you're trying to make it happen. Many years ago I noticed this in one of my progs:

I've been in that prog over 50 seasons, and that's the only one in which a batter ever got to pitch. I remember asking the owner at the end of the season (when I finally noticed) if he had found some hack to get Cochrane on the mound. He told me no, in fact he hadn't realized Cochrane pitched at all until I brought it up.

So Cochrane doesn't have any pitching stats, doesn't throw left or right, but somehow makes 11 appearances and pitches about as well as any other pitcher on a 115-game losing team?

Believe It or Don't!

Yeah I tried in a WISC a few years back to purposefully get a pitcher to bat as DH in order to save some money on PAs.

Didnt work and had very serious fatigue issues cuz I was about 700 PAs under where I should be.

Recently, in a WS game 6 no less, Don Drysdale who was set as a Long A reliever pinch hit for Hearn also a LRA reliever in the bottom of the 15th inning. This evidently was because all of my bench batters had been previously used and Hearn had used up his pitches/game setting and was set to have a pinch hitter come in for him in this situation. Pitcher Drysdale could have been a hero as a batter, but he grounded out with the potential winning runners on base and I lost the game by 1 run. Believe it or don't.
