also if one evaluates their practice planning / player development strategy by the final ratings of their players, that person is seriously missing the point. talk to me about your end of season sophmores, that is where the juice is.
I agree with this as well. If a team has good sophomores ready for NT play when that time comes, that separates the men from the boys.

And yes i will use 10 to start. 9 at midterms. 7 after grades, 5 at midterms. Then 0 when they pass for the year. As Sophs I'll start guys at 2 SH minutes that aren't over 3.0gpa.

There's so many methods that people use that work. And again, i aim to play safe. Even things like "I can't remember the last time I've had an ineligible player" doesn't work for ME personally. Because that means it happened at least once at some point. I'm not ok with that. Some coaches are, and that's plenty fine as well. Choices choices

I just got my first ineligible player in probably 7 years. He is a sophomore on my Minnesota team. Started the season with a 2.3 GPA and I gave him 4 SH minutes. His midterm GPA was 2.0 so I bumped his SH minutes to 11. He finished the term with a 1.8.

i feel like you said yes and then no. the post you originally quoted is a newer coach talking about 10m for all players - not just freshman. also my question was about non-freshman 10m - i'm confused about your answer. yes you will use 10 to start, or no you start your sophs at 2m?

Ohhhh my apologies. I start with 10 for freshman. Which is what I thought the new coach said. Not 10 each and every season. I just continuously decrease every time grades come out. Unless there's a reason not to. Jrs and Srs never get any SH minutes from me. Most Sophs don't. But I invest heavy as a freshman
