Target pitch count not saving? Topic

Since a fairly recent update gave us the ability to use starting pitcher "openers" with less than 40 pitches for the target pitch count, I decided to do a rotation full of low-inning starters followed by higher inning tandem guys. I set up the pitch counts accordingly, but noticed my starters were getting more fatigued than expected. I checked the pitch counts, and the openers all had target pitch counts of 40, when I had set them lower. Twice I've fixed it, thinking I might have not saved it before, or shuttling people to and from AAA might have reset something, but I just had to fix it a third time. I'm confident I saved it last time, and none of the pitchers in question have been in AAA since I last set it. Has anyone else run into this? Is there anything else I should be checking on before I send in a ticket?

It resets every time you make an adjustment.

So if you set PC, but then move Starter 1 to starter 2, etc, it will reset the PC settings. I keep forgetting to send a ticket

I don't remember that happening before. Does it just happen with guys set below 40 TPC?

Yes it only occurs with pitchers who have a PC under 40, and it will then default them to 40

That explains a lot on my Rollie Fingers team. I know I set ‘81 Fingers for 25 PC, but then someone pointed out to me that I had him on a 40-45 PC. I fixed it, and after this post went back and checked and he was back at a 40 again and threw 45-51 pitches in each of his last three games.

Looking at his game log, he has two stretches of 8 starts at 25 PC before jumping back to 40 PC, both times I moved an RP up as a spot starter... to save fatigue on my other two starters.

Good evening doctorkz,

Just so I am 100% clear on the recreation steps:
1) Set you pitcher to a TPC
2) Move them to a different spot in the rotation
3) Check and see if this changes their TPC? (Right now it is resetting it? If so, to what #?)

I am curious how widely used this maneuver is so could you help me understand the level of importance?
Also in what situations would this be used, sorry for the 20 questions I am still learning the nuances of the game myself.

Sincerely,

-Adam

You'll need to bring Adam up to speed on this one...

I went ahead and submitted a ticket as well. Hopefully they can sort it out. I wouldn't THINK it's a difficult fix, but it may be one of those tiny coding details that's hard to track down.

For me, it only resets PC if set to under 40. And then if I change my rotation it will reset all PC currently set under 40 to 40

That's been my experience, too.

I'm guessing it's a throwback to when 40 was the minimum you could set for a SP. If you moved a reliever into the rotation who previously had <40 for their TPC, it would automatically raise it to at least 40.

3 batter minimum = 40

the simulation gets a belated A
