I won't make this long, since I fudged up royally.
I identified a few players early on (Newsom, Grace and Picinich) that I would save until they end as they had enough cheap or useable seasons to not have to rush.
Nomination: 1991 Jamie Moyer
This pick got me at the top of the draft order, and I know would force at least half the field to draft a lot of innings. I don't really regret this nomination, even though it gave some people really solid teammates.
1. 2019 Greinke (Partial)
I'm conflicted about this pick in hindsight. I knew I'd likely get stuck drafting a lot of innings from nominated players, so I decided to keep this low to help my draft position and get me a solid Long A/Setup B guy. He also brought along some stud SP in Cole and Verlander. When it was all said and done, I came up way short on the cap, so I could've taken the full-season Greinke here (and saved a teammate for the offensive side), but that also would've changed my whole draft, so hard to tell.
2. 1952 Shantz
I knew I'd have to start at least some of the nominated pitchers. This pick gave me a solid SP option and avoided some Shantz's crappier seasons. Hurt my draft position a bit, but I'm good with the pick.
3. 1955 Skowron
This pick served multiple purposes. With a ton of 1B options, this gave me a low-PA season to use as a PH/platoon player, and brought along teammates Mantle, McDougald and Berra. Definitely my best/most valuable pick of the draft.
