How is it after all these years there is still not a realistic substitution pattern? Or a way to set an end of game lineup? Why is my best player being taken off the floor with 1:30 left in a tie game? Why are guys subbing in just a minute or two into a game? This is a big part of why I left 10 years ago and may leave again soon.

I think updates like this will eventually happen. Remember that this code was written 20+ years ago and the technology didn't allow for many things. The current devs are planning to update all of the code, which will allow more advanced and robust features to be added in the future.
