Game Play Question Topic

Playing many years, and have just thought of something today that I do not know the answer for. If you leave off players from the depth chart (intentionally such as Walk On's) and you have players foul out to the extent you have less then five eligible players on your depth chart, will the Sim pull in players not on Depth Chart? How about same logic positionally, you lose all four players under PG due to fouls or injury, will the Sim pull a player not on the chart to fill the position?

Yes. I've had walk on's who are not on my depth chart pulled into games, It just happened in one of my CT games. I had a fourth player foul out, and a walk on came in for the final 30 seconds of the game. He got fouled and sank both free throws, so good for him!

Three of my foul outs were the first three on my depth chart for SF, and the fourth on the depth chart was already in the game at another position. My walk ons listed position was SF, so I imagine that's why he got pulled into the game at that point rather than a different "out of position" eligible player. FYI, my PG hierarchy was also in the same boat, so options were very limited.

Yes, it's the reason why senior redshirting the long drawn out way has some risks to it. Any season where I intend to redshirt a senior (by leaving him off the depth chart, and setting to mop up), I try to run slowdown all season. That way it minimizes the chance for foul outs and my player being forced into the game. Its happened to me once and I learned my lesson the hard way

Thanks. First season of a rebuild and ended up with three walk on's, and one other Signee with no stamina. Slow is an option, but wanted an opinion first from the experts who have had this issue before.
