What is the record for a coach's recruits being drafted BEFORE that coach makes their first NT at a school?


My highest is a measly one. In Wooden at Penn State a Solomon Speck was drafted in 109 which was before Penn State's first NT appearance while I was coach.

You come up with interesting questions/thoughts. I like it. Makes the mind work! I doubt there's been more than 1 or 2. Since drafted players should be getting people in the NT. But there may be some oddities out there somewhere

Here is one I found in Iba at Mississippi.

I have the opposite issue, ftb: eight straight NT appearances, including two E8s and one S16, and no players drafted. This year I have one at 97 on the Big Board who is likely staying. Probably a bi-product of my team-building strategy.
