I recently watched The Naked Gun again after many years, and still laughed.



If anyone else is a fan of the baseball scene, you might enjoy this piece.

I did watch it about a month ago. AMC had a marathon of Naked Gun and Hot Shots. Love the spoof genre!

Loved ‘Naked Gun’ and have seen 3 or 4 times and it’s just lots of fun. Silly slapstick comedy when it’s done right is a treasure. At the time OJ Simpson was an all time great football star and nothing else. George Kennedy was best known as Oscar winner from ‘Cool Hand Luke’. Leslie Nielsen, other than his performance in the TV series ‘Police Squad’, was primarily known as non comedic character actor and kind of an over-the-hill romantic lead from the 60’s. Leslie Nielsen as an umpire is priceless.

Fun fact: There are more minutes of Naked Gun than there are of Police Squad.

Leslie Nielsen made his deadpan comedy debut in Airplane.

Somehow the scenes where so many bad things happened to OJ became even funnier after the movie had been out a few years.

And here I thought this thread was going to be suggesting MLB do a "Naked Gun Game", after all the recent attention to a "Field Of Dreams Game".

Field of Dreams movie: 6
Field of Dreams novel ("Shoeless Joe"): 8

I'd love to see an MLB Naked Gun game. The field is already built (Dodger Stadium). Leslie Neilson has passed away, so maybe get a home plate ump with white hair and teach him a few dance moves?

OJ Simpson is still around. Would he be willing to be strapped into a wheelchair and pushed down a flight of stairs?

You could raise millions for charity auctioning off that OJ honor.
