25 yr old prospect with three years of development...should have 1-2 more years of okay development. As the third piece of a trade - would you gamble on a guy with the following ratings - probably a 2B or high range LF type.

Current Ratings (again, after 3 years of minor league ball)
SPD - 97
BSR - 81
CON - 88
PWR - 7
vsL - 57
vsR - 57
EYE - 43

I think he's got room to develop on his splits and baserunning...power is what it is, most likely. I would like this guy more if he had a better eye.

Will this guy make enough contact to be a good 1 hitter? Or just a 9 hitter? Or not worth the flyer at all?

If I am after team speed, maybe. If not, I'm not touching him. A guy like that is best with 6-8 other guys just like him and maximum base stealing settings.

That is my type of guy. If he can play 2B well he belongs on any team. If it’s only LF I’d still want him because I build my teams around small ball / base stealing.

If your guy can get to 60 in vsl and vsr and 50-55 in eye I’d have him lead off almost every day.


this guy is probably a better example and I took him 9th overall in the draft. No regrets. Which way does your guy hit? Lefties and switches go a long way with ratings like those.

He's a righty. I'd prefer a switch here...with these types of ratings, as you said. But...again...if he can play some good D, make contact, run....he'll be a good role player if nothing else. And the other guys I'm getting in the deal are really good...so again, this guy is the third piece of a deal.
