I plan on reading a bunch here on the forums, however I am very interested in hearing if others have taken some long breaks and what the biggest learning curves were when coming back.

and recruiting, I have no idea WTF is going on

bought 20 seasons and reserved a bunch of teams
Queens U in smith is the only one active right now

I stopped playing around 6 years ago at the introduction of 3.0 (didnt have the time to invest in learning the new game) and picked it back up about 18 months ago. Recruiting is fairly different than it was, the rest of the game (player eval, gameplanning, scheduling etc) remain the same. Personally, I think recruiting is much better because its not simply an auction system. Take a bit of time to learn the recruiting changes and youll be back up to speed pretty quickly. I am more than happy to help via sitemail. I've mostly played D1 in 3.0 (which seems to be where the majority are gravitating) so there might be better guides if you want to play D2-D3. IMO, D1 and D2 are both very fun and pretty different games but 3.0 made D3 a very polarized haves and have not's which I find less appealing.

Recruiting back then in 2.0:
- unlocked complete ratings for entire states immediately, so your player pool was available quickly.
- combined recruiting and scouting budgets.
- you had an unlimited number of Home Visits, Campus Visits, etc, which o think were unlocked immediately upon scouting a state...

Now in 3.0:
- using Scouting Service, scout selected states, then via Assistant Search, unlock ratings up to four levels.
- your budgets for Scouting and Recruiting are separated.
- "Attention Points" unlock actions.

Those are some quick items.

game is not evolving. ridiculous firing criteria shows it is going in the tank

I miss the days when they opened up new Worlds. Wonder if that would generate new interest?
