We're coming up on job hiring again in Allen (1st round of NT was last night/this AM).

Another invitation to join what is clearly the best D3 conference in Allen. How tough is this conference?

This was year 2 in a big rebuild at my alma mater Ozarks. My SOS after my cupcake-heavy non-con slate was 371. Three. Seventy. One.

Guess what my SOS ended up at once the dust settled on conference games (I went 1-15 in conf. games, just BTW!).

I'll tell you what my SOS ended up at. My SOS ended up at 54. Fifty. Four.

From 371 to 54! That's how tough our conference is. We had 4 teams in the top 8 overall at one point (before they beat up on each other), and ended up with five teams in the NT - all five of which advanced to the 2nd round. We're #1 in conference RPI for the second season in a row.

If you're looking for a D3 challenge, this conference is the place for you!

3 of our 5 NT teams advanced to the Sweet 16.

Our conference still has 2 teams alive in the Elite 8.

One of our sims (Louisiana College) had a long-time coach leave after last season, and sim took the roster he built to the NT 2nd round this season. That team would be a great team to pick up if you're looking for an elite D3 conference but not a rebuild.

Looks like y’all have a nice conference. If you really want a challenge, come take over the last spot in Smith Heartland

Just had our craziest "this is a powerhouse conference" moment yet, IMO:

We had 4 of the top 5 teams in D3 by RPI - numbers 2 thru 5. (but one of those teams beat the other last night, so we now have 4 of the top 6).

If you want a D3 Challenge, find any Downtrodden squad in D3 and build it up using only D3 level recruits. I read that here in the forums about four years ago, and tried doing just that. It was a challenge and by year five I decided to move on. It will challenge you as a recruiter and as a Coach.

I'm in year 4 with Eureka College in Iba doing this. You can definitely find solid guys. There's some really good DIII jucos. It's harder finding freshmen that you want. I think projected DIII recruits often have a lower WE and it just takes them a longer time to develop. But if you can get them close to maxing out, a lot of them wind up being solid, too.
