Are you interested in a different kind of prog? Topic

About 2 years ago I started the No Whining Progressive - Random Edition (see this thread for some details on the discussion that led to the league's formation.)

The key things that make this league unique are:
-- Each team has a max of 90 contract points to allocate across 33 players (so the average contract length is ~3 seasons). So we have lots of roster turnover - much more than a typical prog.
-- Draft order is 100% random, every season. No weighting, no wins floors, etc. You have a 1 in 12 chance of getting the first pick; same as everyone else. You might get the #1 pick twice in a row; you might go 20 seasons without getting it at all.
-- Each season, every player on every roster gets a randomly allocated season, which could be +/- 2 seasons from the actual season we are playing. So in 1909, you might draw the 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910, or 1911 season for each of your players. If you draw a season when your player is not eligible, them's the breaks. Our league owners will tell you that this uncertainty COMPLETELY changes things compared to a typical prog,
-- As a consequence of the season-randomization, we allow owners to draft players two seasons before they enter the SLB database. Ty Cobb, for example, was the #1 pick in our 1903 draft, even though he doesn't have a WIS season until 1905. Between this provision, and the high roster turnover necessitated by contracts expiring, our annual drafts look different from almost any other progressive playing a similar era. Things like the Progressive Draft Database are much less useful here because the player pool is very different. You actually have to do your homework.

My intention is to fill the league by invitation only, for the entirety of its existence. Ideally this means the following:
-- Only experienced progressive owners, please (this league is more complicated than a standard prog, will take more time, and most of the usual prog strategies won't work)
-- You will most likely spend a few seasons on the waitlist before a team opens up; that gives you time to learn the rules and get comfortable with the strategies that are involved here.

If you are interested in being added to the waitlist, and you are an experienced SLB progressive owner, please sitemail me (do not post here - I will not be regularly checking this thread.) I will add you to the league forum so you can the complete rules and get a sense of how the league works. When a team becomes available, I will go to the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis.
