I had 5 scholarships on a new team. B- Prestige. I had a average of 46 points per cycle. Spent 6k. Promised playing time. When it came down to it I was trailing by 6% still. I won the recruit, but by luck. What does it take, everything to win a 4 or 5 star recruit. I thought for sure I was up. Is it prestige, coach, or just having to put more than the other guy

You left out a ton of information that is needed, for us to understand the situation. 1) Were you a B- vs an A+? Or B- vs a D? 2) The amount of money doesn't matter specifically. $6k could've earned you as little as 6 HV where as $5k might get a nearby school 20 HV. 3) since you did not mention it, I'm assuming that maybe you aren't aware that preferences are arguably the most important part of the process. Did your opponent likely have great preferences? Were yours no good? 4) AP "average" is irrelevant. "Total" AP is what gets measured.

also note the average AP is stupid in the sense that it doesn't include cycles you spent 0. or at least misleading. i often miss a cycle on a target because i'm off unlocking other guys and i wish that was reflected.

That's all blank info on our end. Just type it out?

1) how many total AP?
2) did you offer a start? And how many minutes?
3) did you do 20 HV and 1 CV? Or less?

Also you're a B- to B+ prestige. It appears that your preferences "might have been" better than his but by the slightest. So it's likely if you trailed in the roll, both schools put in about the exact same amount of effort. It's very common that two schools go all in when fighting for a recruit. This to me looks like a normal battle with nothing odd or noteworthy. So I'm not sure why the complaint.

But again, there's info missing.

Im not complaining at all. Im happy as hell I got the recruit. I want to understand so next time I can put more effort in. You don't always win coin tosses. Im trying to learn. I have nothing to be upset about
662 AP Points 20 home CV 1
wanted to play very good offered start plus 20 min
wants success very good
perimeter offense neutral
flex very good
man to man neutral
strong conference neutral
signing whenever

Ok good. Glad you clarified. It's tough to understand demeanor behind a keyboard.

Looks like you had a good amount of effort in. You did everything right basically. Not much really to discuss accept for.... 1) since you were a B- to his B+, his 'wants success' was likely a bit better/stronger than yours. 2) 'maybe' he had "good" in conference strength (just a possibility, I don't know that for sure). 3) he was likely close in AP to what you had. Or at least in the ballpark. Maybe 500.

The main thing to learn here is that if you're a B- you're going to have to have more effort than the opponent in most cases, to LEAD in the roll. Being the leader is all you can aim for.

I hope you found something to be helpful here
