How do ballpark adjustments operate? Topic

when playing at a park that is plus HR - do doubles become HRs? do guys who hit HRs hit more HRs?

Putting it differently - what characteristics of a player benefit from being plus HR or vice versa?

simplifying a lot:

- the sim first decides hit or out
- then if its a hit, it decides home run or not home run
- then if its not a home run, it decides single, double or triple

there are ballpark effects on all three of those steps. certainly if the park is plus HR this benefits home run hitters. doubles don't directly become home runs, but in a park that's plus HR with all else neutral, hitters will hit more home runs and fewer doubles (as well as fewer singles and fewer triples)

The numbers are not precise, and not all +1 or -1 parks are the same. You have some parks that their +1 might actually be +1.2, another +1 might be well above +1.5.
