I see your 1886 Stovey and raise you an 1889 Stovey
I’d take 86 or 87 Stovey over 89 for two reasons:
1) Price- for +/-$7m there’s a lot of guys who are great
2) PA’s- with 773PA, he’s got about 100 more than you ever realistically need and so are spending salary on waste
but I’ve never actually used him and I’m a little intrigued by how he’d perform :)
I’ve used him several times, always in the leadoff spot and he’s hit at least .300 every time with doubles and triples. He’ll steal 60-70 bases but unfortunately he’ll get caught around 30 times also. Depending on which park I choose, he’ll hit a few homers too.
