First place I would go is the “Edit Roster” (GM->Roster Management->Edit Roster). From there you should be able to see how many players you have at each level (also max roster sizes). You can see the breakdown between position players and pitchers to see what you will need.

If you have a lot of empty rosters you will need to sign players once free agency starts to move players between levels. I believe at least 20 players on each team (except rookie league).

I would also reach out to the commissioner for help as well. You will need to set your budget if you haven’t already and coach hiring is important early in the schedule to give yourself the best shot at good performance/development across all the levels.

Agree with yumen in that you need to reach out to your commissioner and ask for help. Also, post in world chat if you have questions. With a lot of things, there isn't one correct answer. What happens in the first week really determines the shape of your franchise. Understanding how everything works can be overwhelming. There is also plenty to read here in the forums. I spent hours pouring through posts and sending endless trade chats to the commissioner when I first started. Fortunately, I had a terrific guy who helped guide me through that first season.

Also, every page/screen you get into has a help guide. Click on the ? in the yellow circle that is located in the upper right part of the page.

Hang in there! The first season can be overwhelming but it gets easier after that and becomes a fun game.

IN CASE anyone from Admin reads this, and they ever have an idea to rework this game, IMO this Topic points up the most obvious stumbling block for the New HBD owner:

Organization.

The first week of an HBD season is spent on Organization. Not learning to play the game, not the most important part of the game which is learning to evaluate players, but simply getting your Franchise organized properly.

Literally the moment the Rule 5 draft is over and preseason starts, unless you're cleaning up things you haven't done up to that point, it's a wave of events that gets cut immediately to three discrete events per day.

When I started playing HBD, because I'd read the forums and had an understanding of the depth, I knew the Organization would get in my way. Before I even purchased my first team, I'd read the forums for a month, gotten a recommendation from a WiS friend of which world to join, and found a mentor among experienced owners. Just so the Organization wouldn't trip me up.

Agree with everything being said here. One other big thing: Be wary of other owners trying to poach your best players and young studs. It happens way too much in this game. Run trades by someone you trust. And don't take on bad long-term contracts.
