I read in the forums the following “playing minutes does not affect the rate that offense/defense IQ improves.” 1. I wanted to confirm this was accurate? 2. Does having a start in a game increase the rate that offense/defense IQ improves?

Is the rate at which training improvement occurs dependent upon skill level? Example (black potential and all other things being equal), does a player at level 50 move to 51 quicker than from 80 to 81?

Home court advantage: does away wins/losses have any effect on home court advantage? In nonconference play would a 5 – 5 record with all losses being away and 5 home wins give the same home-court advantage as 10 – 0 record with the same 5 home wins? What record would a team need in nonconference play to go into conference play with A+ record?

I read many opinions in the forums regarding scouting strategies. Many favored using “home” camps, but I could not distinguish if they also included regional camps in these recommendations. I would like to get opinion on the value of the “home” camps vs regional camps if anyone wants to take the time to go down that road again?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

1. Playing minutes and starts effects IQ growth indirectly. Both of those increase WE which impacts IQ growth. HS gpa also effects IQ growth I think. Practice minutes is main driver of IQ growth though.

3. Skill growth is faster around 50. It’s a bell curve. The fastest growth is in the 30-70 range. It’s slow at the extremes.

1/2 - agree with TJ, no direct impact, but through work ethic growth, there is indeed an indirect impact

4 - both home and away games have an impact on HCA. home games have a bigger impact. in d2/d3, i don't think you can get anywhere close to A+ hca, unless they changed it. perhaps 20 wins a season over time is about what it takes to get to d1 a+ hca? there is no HCA in the NT so i don't think most folks sweat it too much. it definitely is helpful getting that HCA up from the crappy levels of low d1 schools, but its really not that important to have say an A+ vs an A-, prestige is many times more important. so i don't think any of us really study HCA that closely, its just not something that needs too much attention. its pretty much just about wins (and home vs away), quality of wins doesn't really seem to matter, rpi, etc. (margin of victory could be a factor but i'm not sure)

5 - not an expert here, but with private / home camps, you get 2 levels for 60 bucks per player. with the other camps, i believe its 1 level for 60 bucks per player, which is the same as the assistant coach, which makes them a pretty tough sell. i'm not sure i've ever heard much in the way of folks using those, perhaps around the margins, but i just ignore them all except the private camp.
