Remove Scholly: No Negative Effect Topic

N=1 here but I just removed a scholly for a recruit I was not planning on signing without any negative effect. From experience, removing a scholarship wipes all effort and a comeback is nearly impossible. After signing my top two guys I cut a player and next cycle this guy signed (I would've taken him if I had 3 openings but given WE, ineligibility and possible battle risk I went with the other two first).

My only theory for why there was no negative effect was that he was ineligible. Has anyone else seen the same effect when removing a scholarship for an ineligible player? Or is the response variable enough to removing scholarships that this event is possible?

I removed a scholly last recruiting period and he stayed at very high. I had a fair amount of effort in him though.

this is normal, and has always worked the same way, at least as long as i've been here.

its based on the player's level relative to the school, but based on the HD rankings which don't correlate too well with player skill, basically. anyway, the level of the player and school (division, prestige) are compared and this drives a lot of things... like how much negative impact a scholarship pull does. on the low end, all pulling a scholarship does is remove the opposite effort that was added (at least that minimum is still supposed to be in place to stop positive loops). on the high end, players get super ******.

its normal especially in lower divisions to recruit up and see mostly players who will get ******, but still. anyway, this same factor impacts things like inform of redshirt and amount of effort to unlock the recruiting actions.

I somehow managed to unoffer a scholarship while also dropping a 20 bomb on a guy in the same cycle. He luckily still kept me at very high and then signed the next cycle but yeah that has to be the dumbest thing I have done since I've returned to the game lol
