Being new to HD, but not new to SLB or MLB rules, I'd expected some growing pains. In restocking my rosters for the new season, I unawares purchased cheap a couple free agent arms who came with an ML roster only criteria. I spose that necessity was listed somewhere on his player card I wasn't looking for, nor at first glance would it appear the players were ML/40-man worthy. Not wanting them on the ML roster, I simply let the required days of non action pass until they dropped from my franchise, out the minimal purchase cost.
But from that, I tried to become better aware of future fine print. I didn't read anywhere that it said a player previously waived and thereby losing his 40-man tag fron the earlier owner would still keep it with his new owner, nor is that how it works in real-life. But from the earliest errors, I could see a possibility where I kept the previous 40-man tag even if I didn't want too nor would it make any sense to force us too.
So, I ask. You're right; this shouldn't be any big deal. It's not like I'm trying to pick up Bonds on release that someone else is paying for and roster him at LowA. I went ahead and put in a claim. If I win, I still don't know what's going to happen. Just trying to restock AAA/AA without unrealistic rule requirements forcing extra baggage that a different earlier scenario maybe wasn't unrealistic but I missed seeing it.
