I haven't seen this discussed... If the new MLB collective bargaining agreement contains a universal DH, what are WIS plans for adding it?

The current HBD game is based mostly on the MLB collective bargaining agreement (CBA) that was in place in 2005. The CBA has changed since then without this game being updated to match it for the most part. (For example: The minimum salary in 2005 was $327K and is still that in this game. The minimum salary in 2021 MLB was $570,500.) More than just the universal DH would have to be added/updated to bring this game into compliance with whatever the new CBA turns out to be. Given the limited staff at WIS and the history of making very limited major changes to the game, it is unlikely we will see universal DH added.

I'd rather not see it. I like having that difference between the AL and the NL. Growing up a blue jays fan I thought I'd never take a team without the DH. Now having played 50+ seasons in SD in the NL I can't imagine playing with it. I love all the strategy involved in subbing out the pitcher.

while no expert the universal DH should be an easy adaption. Though I do agree this game does little to keep up.

It should at least be an option and shouldn't take much time to make it an option.

I appreciated dyoungquist's response and it made sense. My perspective is WIS should be trying to keep a MLB simulation up to date with the game it's simulating. Clearly, they are way behind. However, I don't think a Big Bang release getting them completely current with the new CBA is feasible. Rather, they should prioritize all the changes needed to eventually catch-up and tackle them in order, fitting in what they can with each release.

Delete one line of code and problem solved.

if (team.league == 'AL' && team.isHomeTeam) set game.enableDH = true;
