Being a huge Kentucky fan .. I am still a little upset by the real loss :)
I'll get over it though, I always do. I am defiantly not a fire Cal guy. He has made UK relevant in recruiting again. Winning it all is just hard.
i mostly agree, i feel like his seat is at least up to room temperature now though. that's a pretty rough last two seasons, getting dangerously close to a decade without a final four.
i think he's had some misfortune, pj's last year injuries late in the season really messed up their flow even though everyone was back for the NT, and i think you could say the same about this season? and covid was a thing. i am personally not getting to the 'firecal.com' level but i do think... he needs to do something sooner rather than later.
its kind of a shame, i feel like cal is a great steward for the young men who come through the program, and he's basically perfect as ambassador for the program and the state. i really hope things pick up. i've never felt he was actually that good of a coaching coach, but i'm always hopeful he can succeed in spite of that. that hope has dimmed though, i used to hope he could sort of be a great hero of kentucky, win a handful of titles. now i hope he can win one more :) that would still make him a lesser hero of sorts, i mean he already is, kinda, but i really hope for his sake and ours, he does what pitino, tubby, and hall could not and picks up that #2. i really would like to see him depart uk victorious, a conquerer, not pushed to the door, he's like just on that edge of good enough to stay as long as he wants IMO. i'm a fan, i really want him to fall on the right side of that line!
