It is discouraging to see so many open leagues that are filling up so slowly. I currently have 3 HBD teams, and have thought about taking on a 4th, but there are so many leagues with openings that it causes me to hesitate. I noticed one player in one league commenting that the folks interested in HBD are all getting older and don't have the time to manage and run so many different teams. This is the case with me. I might add that the baseball fan base in real life baseball also seems to be dwindling as hardcore fans get older and the younger generation views baseball as too "slow and boring," their words, not mine.

I doubt anything can be done to change the long-range outlook toward baseball from the WIS side of things, BUT I would recommend throwing some of your long-time owners a 'freebie' if they decide to take on a team. I am too new for a promotion like this, but there are guys with hundreds of seasons under the belt, seasoned HBD veterans. Why not give them a promotion for a free season or two IF they take on a new team in a league struggling to get filled?
