I really struggled with this NL West FA pick for the Cards-A's team. We have great defensive players in the middle infield, though there are outstanding upgrade options like Yount available. But I can't see dumping Ozzie ... The weakest spot is probably 3B, but with the one really good Schmidt gone and all the other strong 3B on other teams in the division, the secondary Schmidt seasons of the 80s just don't feel impactful. I'm also not at all thrilled with the homer-or-nothing McGwire as a DH in a minus-HR park, so let's find someone who fits the mold of the rest of the team and gives us some real excitement sandwiched between Rickey and McGee atop the lineup instead.
