Let's say two teams of equal prestige put in equal effort onto a player with the following preferences. I'm sure we can agree with Team A will be favored in a roll, but what will it be?

Team A
Distance VG
Success VB
Long-Time VB

Team B
Distance VB
Success Neutral
Long-Time Neutral

55-45 team A ... or even 50-50.

Beats the hell out of me.

But I'll guess that team B isn't even in signing range.

At first glance, I’d say on the cusp of B slipping down to High, so around 58-42, give or take. But there are variables in those preferences, as you know, it’s not like the VBs just cancel each other out.

I suck at these. If you hadn’t said that “we can all agree A would be favored” I might have guessed 50/50.

I know there is a community belief that some preferences are more important than others. Can someone post a relative ranking of them? That would be very helpful to me.

I am curious where data comes from about how much is spent for these theories to get any legs.

I view preferences in tiers.

Tier 1 is wants to play, success, and distance

Tier 2 is long term coach by itself. And it's not far behind tier 1

Tier 3 is the rest of them

I totally misread this. I thought team A had team B beat for every preference.

My bad, too many happy hour beers.

If this is a far from home preference, Team A by a landslide.

If it's a near home preference, team B shouldn't have got involved! Unless it's like a coach new to a school in RS2 with money to blow.

I feel like far from home and near home have different impacts. Near home players are usually targeted by schools that are "somewhat more equal" in distance. So the gap isn't as wide. Far from home players end up being battles between 1) a school next door and a school across the country. Or 2) a school 1000 miles away and a school 2000 miles away. So, far from home just seems to have a greater impact in my opinion
