New Team / Fast Break Topic

My new team tan a fast break and I’m considering scrapping it, taking my lumps this year and switching to a more traditional offense next season. I’ve never coached the fast break. Part of me wants to figure it out and use it though.

in terms of player settings, should I favor inside game or three points? Both? What are some player attributes that work? How do you use your PF / C? Should we run a smaller lineup with a winger at SF and a slasher at PF or a stretch type?

for my FB teams I look ATH, Speed, Defense, Stamina in that order. I than try to get decent position related attributes secondly. Based on my team I than decide how my lineup will shake up. And I don't know if this a good idea or not. But I generally take my best player and make him the back up at like 3 or 4 positions. He doesn't start but he ends playing a ton of minutes and is generally more effective, He come into the game fresh and goes against back ups or tired starters.

Stamina is huge. Especially if you're pairing it with press. I'd almost go as far as to say it's priority uno. Simply because as coaches we all kinda subconsciously aim for the high ATH players. So that's a given. But you really have to make a conscious effort to build a team with elite stamina that can make an impact. Project the future. When "the big year" is coming up and you're ready to make a deep run. When that time comes, try to target a freshman or two that may not be super appealing overall, but that start with 86 yellow ST.

Then run teams into the ground...... arfy style
