Ask yourself who do I want to get the most at bats?

yes, coincidence.

the fact you're even asking this means you should probably read some of the FAQ threads to learn more about how the sim works
While this is true, there's a nicer, more helpful way to say it. Some might even go so far as to provide helpful links for new players who are engaged enough to come here and ask questions.

I've never understood why there are so many inhospitable people on this website. I guess there are some people whose daily lives leave them feeling the need to come on here and flex. IDK, but it's unfortunate.

Contrarian's posts in the pinned FAQ thread are gone. There's little of use there anymore.

One thing - if you have 2 great on base guys with speed and one has RL double plays galore and you have him lead off you can mitigate the DP somewhat.

RL GIDP do not factor into the game in any way.

probably got redlined

the point is, this isn't real baseball. the players don't care where they are in the lineup their odds of getting a hit are the same regardless of lineup position, score, history vs opposing pitcher, whether they're in a slump or red hot, etc.

I have my forum settings to view all the way down to 5 red stars. Should be able to see everything if it's there. Does anybody else see the posts and I'm not? It was an invaluable resource for new players and it would be a shame if the thread links are truly gone.

The posts were removed a couple months back. Idk if it was contrarian or admin that removed them.

good to know - I thought a proclivity for DP was built in based on the actual stats.
Thank for that input.

When I think of Batting Order I think First of making my 5th Spot the Player with most HR and the 4th Highest Slugging (with hopefully 2nd highest HR) ... One thru Three Spots OBP with secondly BA above .290 - .300 but ordered with 1-2-3 SLG there again with SB taken into account somewhat ... Spots 6 thru 8 lower BA below .290 and lowest SLG ... Correct for the most part but there are slight variations of course but said it best I could word it ...
