I had
Player Profile: Taylor Quackenbush - Hardball Dynasty Baseball | WhatIfSports #1 on my draft board last season. I grabbed him with the #22 pick. I think he slid so far because he said he was not going to sign. I figured, "What the heck?" He rejected my first 7 offers, finally signing in the AM of the potential last day of the World Series. Make sure you keep the prospect negotiations message. He eventually signed for the amount he first wanted after declining his draft slot amount.
Obviously, he had no growth last season at all. We're 50 some games into this season and he has put on 4 Contact points, 4 for both Splits and 3 for eye.
At that rate he puts on 12, 12 and 9 this season....about double what I would expect. It's as if he's making up for the lost developmental time last season. Will see if it continues.
My $16M HS Scouting put him at 85-87-98-87-86 with the bat and 58-71-81 on the catching defensive side. Interestingly...that's still the same projection I see for him.
Any of you have experience with someone that signs so late they get no bump in pts for the year they were drafted? Do they make up for that in the subsequent year?
