Pujols 699 and 700! Topic

The most impressive thing to me is that Pujols hasn't hit higher than .272 in 10 years (7 of those seasons he failed to get to .250) and he still has a lifetime BA of .296.

700 -- and still counting!

My computer will not start a new topic, so I resort to this derailment:
Take two SS... one rates C-/A+, the other A/C+. If I apply WIS points (1-12), then the A/C+ is a 17 and the C-/A+ a 16. Is the former really marginally better, especially because errors hurt, or is the A+ SS really better because balls that get past the SS really hurt?

If all else is equal, I’m selecting the C-/A+. But there are so many variables

Early C- or worse SS can create a LOT of errors, many more than the benefits of what + plays they can get you... Careful...even some C fielding SS are pretty bad...

Case in point...the 1912 Honus Wagner is listed as B+/A at shortstop, has 32 errors in 143 games. He's certainly capable, but nowhere near flawless.
