So the game this morning in Naismith NT was devastating. Up 10 at the half against a lower seeded team and I lost in OT, despite fouling out two of his starters.
Still, if things hold, I am proud of what I’ve done there in the first five seasons.
At Benedictine, no human coach had ever won more than 80 games. He won 80 in five seasons. I have now won 83 in 5. Benedictine had been to 9 national tournaments all time- I have taken them to 2. We had finished ranked 3 times in the AP. I will have them ranked twice. I believe I will end up with the third highest RPI in program history this year. I’ve also got the fourth highest RPI finish. This year will probably finish with the toughest SOS in program history, and we went 25-5. This year, we went 19-0 in conference, which is not super impressive except we have two other human coaches in division and one that has run the league for years. I wanted to add to their three NT wins. I failed there.
And I know it’s not super impressive, but the year before I showed up, they went 2-25. So I’m reasonably pleased. I think next years team might be better. Hoping I’ve built it up so that future years will continue to be better and better.
