If a player gets an award (All-Conference 1st team, Player of the Year, etc), does it do anything to his ratings?

No, it does not affect their ratings. It is simply window dressing for some people to get excited about their players accomplishments. I like the awards, but they do nothing for your players.

national AA awards do increase draft stock, while conf awards are completely meaningless.

Seems like that should at least get a kid a nice WE bump, but that seems like too much to ask for based on other stuff I've read on the forums.

doesn't really make sense to add a WE bump, its stats based and nothing to do on his actual ratings and a simple window dressing

You get an award, you are excited and happy, boost to morale, seems like an easy work ethic bump, stupid if not, but that is WIS

I'd argue the opposite. Achieving something can tend to cause complacency in an individual (i.e. less drive/motivation to keep working hard). Work ethic generally precedes accomplishments, not the other way around. If anything, maybe the awards could have a prestige impact to the program.
