Potential Green to Black? Topic

I'm sure there is an explanation, hence the post reaching out to you all, but I have a player who started out with 49 green defense and now after almost a full regular season he is at 56 defense and his potential is black. Why was the blue potential category skipped? Maybe my math is wrong or my understanding of the ranges for each potential category. Probably both haha

49+27=76 minimum green potential you could get 56 black= 76 hopefully my math isnt too wrong after watching georgia tcu

21 is maximum black growth, 28 in minimum green growth. So your player caps at 77
Red: 0-3
Yellow: 3-7
Black: 7-21
Blue: 21-28
Green: 28+

Sounds like he was the dreaded green-to-blue flip as soon as the first practice processed.

I appreciate the refresher in the range. I was going with Blue: 21-27. The rationale that the minimum range of one category (28 for "Green") can be the maximum range of the lesser category (28 for "Blue") explains the scenario. Thank you for taking the time to respond (this goes for others as well).
