Anyone else surprised by the Yankees’ poor showing?

I am inclined to believe that we didn't consider the importance of having a long multiyear selection of teams to choose from- 10+ years and up. The Yankees were so good that we basically could only pick from 5 or 6 years worth of rosters. I knew something was not quite right when I made the legendary Irv Doren
DH in the 1952-1957 team. Ironically this team had just enough to move to the next round.
