Transfer email from a signed recruit? Topic

I experienced something weird during the 5pm cycle in Iba. A player sends me an email at 4:30pm informing me of his transfer...but that player has already signed with another school.

Is there some kind of lag in when someone is cut and sends the "hey, check me out" emails?

Not really but maybe somewhat related - in the same world, a transfer signed with the same school that cut him.

And upon further review, even though the recruit was showing as signed with the school that cut him, this player is not on the team's roster with the new season.

did you scout that state during that cycle? I think that triggers the email to the coach as I understand it....

No, I'd already scouted it (IL from my home in WI).

Ultimately, I was done recruiting and intentionally didn't fill my last 2 scholarships, but still looked at the guy who emailed me. Just really weird...

It's happened to me as well. For me - I didn't check the considering list after the email but he was a good transfer so I full sent him with AP. Next cycle, he tells me he's ready for the scholarship but he was already signed. I just assume they send out more emails periodically? I just got the email later than the others (by at least 1 cycle).

Yup, you can sign your own transfers. They may cuss you out on the way out the door BUT you can either scout their state (if you haven't already) or use your assistant to find them to recruit them back. The transferred player will come up in the state where they're initially from so using the assistant could be tough if the recruit is farther out.

Funny enough, you can promise the player starts/minutes even after they transfer for breaking that very promise initially.

Hey,

Just to clarify this since I provided a false assumption (about periodically sending out more emails)! I just had a transfer reach out to me and I put up 60AP... then I noticed I was already able to offer him a scholarship without any prior efforts. Maybe I just never noticed since I don't work with transfers much but I figured I'd update. I'm guessing the recruit is just more interested in signing than receiving efforts first -- beggars can't be choosers.

I’ve heard that any team can offer a scholly on last day of RS2 to a recruit in their pool without putting any effort on him first (D1 schools can do this to D1 projected players, D2 schools to D2 projected players, etc). Not sure if this happened on last day of RS2 or if this is a transfer specific thing I’ve never heard of?
