Can someone explain how to do this?

I think there is a small time window to do so.

At the end of the season do not renew your team. Then when the world rolls over to the next season, you will get removed from the world. You ask the commissioner to send you the password after rollover, so then you can rejoin the league, choose the same team, but choose a different ballpark.

Thanks. I renewed already, so I may be out of luck. Was hoping it could be done after World Series.

You can go into the franchise center and remove your reservation before rollover. Then you can go ahead and do as explained above.

if it's a public world , you'll have to do as above , but do it quickly as someone else can claim that franchise.

Or you can wait until the world rolls into the next season and change your city before the world fills. Just need to ask the commish for the password as you have to leave the word to claim your new city.
